Training Programs

We are seeking participants in Coaching and Mentoring training to support STEM women faculty in the UHCC. We plan for two cohorts of mentors and coaches. One set of mentors and coaches in Spring 2020 and another set of mentors and coaches in Fall 2020.

Let's Make A Change

Here are some ways you can get involved:

Coaching

The purpose of coaching training is to support the development of a cohort of STEM women faculty that can support each other with daily challenges such as micro-aggressions, in seeking promotion and tenure, and creating a collective of faculty that are informed of policies as well as opportunities on campus.

Mentoring

The goal is to train senior STEM faculty and some administrators to mentor and support women STEM faculty. Mentors are considered able to offer insight based on their experiences and resources, and assistance in accessing resources for less senior STEM faculty.

Mentee

The mentoring process is a two-way street where each individual has their own role. This will require you — the mentee — to take responsibility and be actively involved. Make the developing mentoring relationship one of your academic priorities.
